Students who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at Truman have many options, and we encourage you to take the opportunity to research our active chapters in order to make a decision that is best for you.
Below is information on each council’s recruitment/intake process.
Formal Recruitment is the time when you can have your questions answered and decide if joining a sorority is the right choice for you. Formal Recruitment is approximately a week-long experience that happens in early September. Information regarding Panhellenic Recruitment can be found here. If you have any questions about the formal recruitment process, email email@example.com.
The formal IFC recruitment period takes place towards the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Formal Recruitment is approximately week long, and is slated to begin early September. During the first few nights of Formal Recruitment, fraternities host open events for potential members to attend. Towards the end of the week, Formal Recruitment events become invite only. Potential Members going through Formal Recruitment are required to attend events of 3 chapters in order to be able to accept a bid.
IFC permits for Open Recruitment. If a potential member is in their first semester at Truman, they cannot accept a bid via Open Recruitment until after the conclusion of Formal Recruitment. If you have any questions about the IFC recruitment process, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
