Go GREEK at Truman!

All of the social Greek letter organizations at Truman have some sort of recruitment period for their organizations. Most of our organizations have scheduled events during both the Fall and Spring semesters with the more formal process happening in the Fall. People who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at Truman have many options and we encourage you to take the opportunity to get to know the Greek students in our community. We look forward to meeting you!

Panhellenic Formal Recruitment

The Panhellenic Sororities call this time of year Formal Recruitment. Formal Recruitment begins on September 5 and ends with Yell-In on September 10. At Truman we do a No Frills Recruitment which means we focus the majority of our time on getting to know each other and have laid back events for women to learn more about each individual sorority. There is one local sorority on campus, Sigma Chi Delta, which has a more informal recruitment that begins after Panhellenic Formal Recruitment has ended.

IFC Formal Rush

IFC Fraternities refer to their formal recruiting period as Formal Rush. Rush begins on January 25 and concludes on January 31. During the first few nights of Rush men attend events hosted by each IFC fraternity and later in the week have the opportunity to select which fraternities events they want to continue to attend. This is an excellent chance for men to get to know our fraternity members better learn more about IFC at Truman.

NPHC Intake

Students interested in joining an NPHC Fraternity or Sorority are encouraged to attend Meet the Greek on September 24 in the Student Union Building Activities Room. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the NPHC intake process and to meet some members of the Greek community at Truman.
